Bio.
Liam 'Bugsy' Wilson is twenty-six and grew up in the small town of Mansfield, in country Victoria. Liam began teaching himself freestyle dance inspired by Michael Jackson in his home garage, he was soon closely mentored by Maddison & Ellie Kay of M.A.D studios from the age of 10.
Liam successfully completed 3 years of training in Melbourne at Transit Dance, where he successfully obtained his Diploma & Advanced Diploma of Elite Dance, in Performing Arts and a Cert IV in Dance Teaching & Management. He also holds a Cert III in Sound & Light Technology.
Since 2015, ‘Bugsy’ has been travelling to Long Beach, California to compete and train in The World Championships of Performing Arts. As well as participating and successfully winning an Industry award, Overall Champion Dance of the World (Jazz) award twice and various other Gold, Silver and Bronze awards he has also been a part of the live internet broadcast of the Grand Finale showcase four times, being the only male dancer in the World for the final showcase for the 2020 virtual competition & 2022 live competition, winning gold in each category he entered.
Other professional credits that Liam has include winning the national talent showcase FastTrack (2015), Performing for Top Class 2015, VCE Self-Penned Solo Drama Piece 'The Cyclist' (Playhouse Theatre, Melbourne) 2015 & being awarded the Georgy Awards Emerging Young Artist of The Year Scholarship (2015).
Liam was a 2019 participant for Mandala Mansfield L.E.A.D program and has worked on their programs for three years now teaching emerging leaders flash mobs. Liam has also been heavily involved in Radio Mansfield 99.7FM, Mansfield Musical & Dramatical Society, the Mansfield Armchair Cinema and the Mansfield Bush Market, where a portion of his tips go toward a good cause. In 2022, Liam received his Silver Duke of Ed Award.
Some other exciting adventures have included attending the Coronation of King Charles III, the Tony Awards in New York City at Radio City Music Hall in 2022, dancing for the Jackson’s in 2019, and seeing the Pope speaking at Vatican City in 2023.
